R.I.P. Flash (1996-2020)

Adobe ended support for Flash, one of the well known and widely used software due to security reasons. Adobe displays “Since Adobe will no longer be supporting Flash Player after December 31, 2020 and Adobe will block Flash content from running in Flash Player beginning January 12, 2021, Adobe strongly recommends all users immediately uninstall Flash Player to help protect their systems.

Every millennial animators and users of animators knows the pros and cons of Flash, the joy of seeing cartoons and animations in the web while painfully tolerating flash issues, refreshing, rebooting the PC and installing and updgrading flash to see those animations and videos on the web.

Justin of Askiisoft tweeted “On December 31st, Adobe Flash will no longer be supported. I didn’t own consoles growing up, so Flash is how I learned to love games. Many of my fondest memories from childhood are of Flash games and animations. Thanks for all the memories. May heaven grant you fortune.

As kids and adults growing up using flash, we will miss you Flash.
