ARK funds heading for the worst year since its inception

Cathie Wood’s flagship ARK Innovation ETF fund is down 22% for 2021, despite the tec-centric Nasdaq is 23% up during that period. Yesterday (Monday 12/27), S&P 500 index climbed 1.4%, Nasdaq gained 1.6%, while Wood’s ARK Innovation ETF down 1.7%.

Wood — according to Barron’s one of the 100 Most Influential Women in U.S. Finance — formed ARK Investment Management about seven years ago, but her flagship fund failed to continue the grwoth that she had been touting.

Zoom, Zillow and Teladoc are among the fund’s that contributed the most to its decline this year. Wood seem to indicate that she don’t plan to change the course for the ETF to her investment approach. Wood’s many other funds are in the bearish category as well.
