Based on initial results from Geekbench 5, apprantly MacBook Air featuring Apple’s inhouse M1 chip outperforms 16″ Macbook Air. The M1 chip, according to the benchmark, has a 3.2GHz base frequency, which belongs to a ‌MacBook Air‌ with 8GB RAM reportedly has single-core score of 1687 and a multi-core score of 7433.
If this is going to be consistent, then Apple’s magic is going to change the CPU world, and certainly Intel will have huge impact negatively. Already Intel ($INTC) stock is 16% down YTD and 35% down from it’s peak this year.
AMD is going to have issues interms of competition with Apple’s M1 chip as well.
