Microsoft confirmed Thursday laying off about 3000 of its employees globally, “mostly in sales” as part of its major reorganization. Microsoft laid off about 2400 in last July, total cut of 7400 employees for the fiscal year 2016. Tech giant communicated internally and here is the statement from the tech giant:
Microsoft is implementing changes to better serve our customers and partners. Today, we are taking steps to notify some employees that their jobs are under consideration or that their positions will be eliminated. Like all companies, we evaluate our business on a regular basis. This can result in increased investment in some places and, from time-to-time, re-deployment in others.
Microsoft’s stocks were down a little bit Thursday but it is picking today. Tech consumers, fans and commercial are not overly enthusiastic about recent Microsoft innovation in windows. Especially, many are concerned about Windows handling of privacy.
